Food Business Operators (with an annual turnover less than ₹12 lakhs.)
- Petty Food Business Operators
- Small-scale Food Manufacturers, Processors, Distributors, Retailers, or Suppliers, Repackers.
- Hawkers, Petty retailer, Itinerant vendors, and temporary stall holders,Thela, Sweets shop, Juices stall etc
- Cottage industries related to food production.
- Meat Processing Units, Vegitable Oil Processing Units
- Temporary or fixed stall or food premise involved in preparation, storage, distribution and sale of food products that can be served as a snacks/ tea/coffee and similar variants.
- Substances added to Food
- Storage – Cold/Refrigerated Cold/refrigerated
- Storage – Atmospheric Controlled + Cold Controlled Atmosphere
- Storage Without Atmospheric Controlled + Cold
- Transporter (upto single vehical)
- Wholesaler, Distributor, Retailer, Hotel, Restaurants, Club, Canteen, Dhaba
- Boarding housesserving food, Banquet halls with food catering arrangements, Home Based Canteens/ Dabba Wallas, Permanent/ Temporary stall Holder, Food stalls/ Arrangements in religious gatherings/ fairs etc

Dairy Units including Milk Chilling Units (Upto 500 Ltrs of Milk per day, Upto 2.5 MT of Milk Solids per annum)

Slaughtering House (with not more than; Large Animals: 2, Small Animals: 10, Poultry Birds: 50)
Slaughtering means a process of transporting, stunning, butchering, dressing, processing, storing & distribution of live animal/poultry birds
All Food Manufacturing/ Processing units other than Dairy Units, Vegetable Oil, Meat Processing and Slaughtering Houses
- With in the capacity of Turnover upto Rs. 12 Lacs per annum Or Production capacity upto 100 Kgs/Ltrs per day
Food Vending Agencies
Either Turnover upto Rs. 12 Lacs per annum OR upto 12 vending machines in only one State/UT
Departmental Canteens at the premises of Central Govt. Institutions
This needs a Central Registration
